Description
Petrosmart is a knowledge based, quiz format competition that tests understanding of petroleum systems, energy issues, and emerging technologies across the oil and gas value chain. It runs as a highly competitive online preliminary stage followed by an offline final stage at Aula Prof. Soemantri, Universitas Indonesia.
This competition carries the theme "Advancing Petroleum Intelligence for Energy Resilience and Sustainable Transformation" and is open to university students (teams of 3) across Indonesia, with IDR 6.000.000 total prize pool on the line. Full technical guidelines, assessment criteria, and templates follow the official GECo UI 2026 guidebook.
Registration fee: Early bird IDR 150.000 per team (1 - 6 September 2026), normal registration IDR 175.000 per team.

Rules and requirements
- Each team consists of 3 active undergraduate or diploma students from the same university, verified with a valid Student ID Card.
- The top 10 teams from the online preliminary round advance to the offline final stage.
- During the preliminary round all three members must be physically in the same room, with a dual camera Zoom proctoring setup and full screen share.
- Microphone and camera on the proctoring device must stay on for the entire exam duration.
- Opening other tabs or applications, communicating with anyone outside the team, and using unauthorised references result in disqualification.
- A correct answer is worth 10 points, an incorrect answer incurs a 5 point penalty; final point values are confirmed at the technical meeting on November 13, 2026.
- Decisions of the judges and committee are final and legally binding.
