A national writing competition for high school students who want to shape the future of clean energy.
Description
The National Essay Competition is held fully online, from registration and abstract selection to the full essay submission and the final presentation. Participants develop an original idea on renewable energy and defend it in front of the panel of judges.
This competition carries the theme "Innovating Renewable Energy Solutions for Future Energy Sustainability" and is open to senior high school / vocational students (individual) across Indonesia, with IDR 5.000.000 total prize pool on the line. Full technical guidelines, assessment criteria, and templates follow the official GECo UI 2026 guidebook.
Registration fee: IDR 50.000 per participant (individual registration).

Rules and requirements
- Open to active senior high school, Islamic senior high school, or vocational high school students across Indonesia, proven with a Student ID Card or certificate of active student status.
- Each participant competes individually and may submit only one essay.
- The whole competition is conducted online, from registration to the final presentation.
- The abstract is 250-300 words; the full essay is 5-10 pages, Times New Roman 12 pt, 1.15 spacing, A4, submitted as PDF.
- Citations follow APA 7th edition and the similarity index must not exceed 20% on Turnitin.
- AI may only support brainstorming, reference searching, and grammar editing; AI generated content is not permitted.
- The decision of the panel of judges is final, binding, and cannot be contested.
