Description
The Basin Case Study Competition challenges teams to work a real subsurface dataset, from preliminary essay to a full case report and presentation deck. Finalists receive the dataset and software training before defending their work offline on the final day.
This competition carries the theme "Advancing Reservoir Optimization for Clean and Efficient Energy: Bridging Technology, Economics, and Environmental Stewardship" and is open to university students (teams) across Indonesia, with IDR 6.000.000 total prize pool on the line. Full technical guidelines, assessment criteria, and templates follow the official GECo UI 2026 guidebook.
Registration fee: Early bird IDR 150.000 per team (1 - 6 September 2026), normal registration IDR 175.000 per team, plus IDR 400.000 per team for the final stage.

Rules and requirements
- Teams register through the official form and upload every required document before the deadline.
- Registration fee: early bird IDR 150.000 per team (1 - 6 September 2026), normal registration IDR 175.000 per team, and IDR 400.000 for the final stage; payments are non-refundable.
- Proof of payment is submitted through the online registration form.
- After registering, the team leader must join the official GECo 2026 Basin Case Study WhatsApp group.
- Finalists receive the dataset and software training on October 16, 2026 and must attend the technical meeting on November 13, 2026.
- Non English content in submitted materials receives a point deduction, and any act of dishonesty results in disqualification.
- Winners are announced at the Awarding Night on November 14, 2026.
